Winds of Change

Little Ayden is starting at a new school today. He was at a private elementary school but things there were not really working out. We had thought that he needed some academic structure and this school would help. Come to find out that he really needed some behavior structure that this school was not suited to address. So he is going to go to the public elementary school that Tristan is at. Overall is should be a good move and he is excited to go. He had always been beggin to go to school on the bus, with his friends and have a big playground like Tristan. Now he can.

Wendy is a chaperon for Tristan's class trip today to Jamestown VA. That should provide some good pictures and stories that I will get up this weekend. The kids in her group are Tristan, Brandon who lives about 6 houses down from us, Emily who lives a couple of houses in the other direction, and Porshcea whom we don't know. Tristan has been spending some time a Emily's house. We are not sure if they are just friends, but we are sitting back and watching and smiling.

Devyn was asked to go to a dance tomorrow "as friends" with a girl from the neighborhood. We know he wanted to go to the dance with some fellas but no one was wanting to go. So he took this chance and showed some maturity in saying yes and not getting all goofy and not going.

Devyn seems to be the little jokester in school these days. I may not retell as best as when he told me but he makes me laugh. I guess some older/larger kid was giving him some shit at school and Devyn responded after a while in a geeky voice "You better knock it off or I will attack you with my level 27 ice sword". I guess the guy found it pretty funny and laughed. Problem solved. Also, last night he was describing a incident in the halls with a special needs student and we asked how did he know that it was a special needs student. Devyn said, "you know he had the elbows going," and he started working his elbows. It may not have been politically correct, but it was funny to describe the elbows and the motion he used to describe it.
