If you happen to come to this site before the main www.jilson.net go their and see a picture in the boys costumes. Halloween went well. I took Tristan and Ayden through the neighborhood with Tristan's friend Emily. We hung with Emily and her father for a couple of blocks, but Tristan and Ayden had had enough. When last we saw Emily she was still sprinting from house to house and I was carrying the boys candy, masks and sword and they dragged ass back to the house. They started out strong, but did not have the staying power.
Devyn went out with a bunch of friends and ended up splitting off into a smaller group when the larger group got to be "annoying". I thought a nice little mature move our boy. He does not have a strong desire to fit in and is quick to depart when he does not like what is going on. Nice to see.
Wendy stayed at home to hand out candy and was into her duties as local enforce of Halloween etiquette. You can't come to our house and just hold out your bag. You have to say "trick or treat", what your dressed as, you name and chat for a bit. The older you are the more she lays into you. I think it ends up being the scariest house in the neighborhood, you think you are walking up for an easy score because the lady is sitting outside with a basket, but you have to work for it.
Ayden is doing great at school and continues to get great reports from his teacher. We are quite pleased he is doing so well with the change. It also affirms that we just made the wrong choice in schools and it was the school that was to blame for part of the problem and not all Ayden.
