We had to put Miss Mattie down today. She had a tumor of some sort that was starting to grow rapidly over the last two weeks. She was probably almost 10 years which is old for a Dane. We rescued her in 2000 from Sacramento where she had been found walking the streets with duck tape around her muzzle. She lived a good life, got a lot of love and gave a lot back.

I'm really sorry to read this news. Mattie was my roomate on our cross country trip. She kept me warm in Salt Lake City on one memorable night!
