Basement is just about finished. We had the final inspection today and got the stamp of approval.
It is quite strange finally having carpet on the stairs going down to the basement. Wendy had the Jilson sign that use to hang in front of the "Deep Bottom" (our old house in Barnstable) touched up by a friend and placed it on the first landing going down the stairs. Wendy also made the hand rails from steel pipes from home depot; cutting the size and painting them , even the inspector commented today on how much he liked them.
The dogs are really enjoying the carpet on the stairs going down to the basement as well.
At the bottom of the stairs to the left is the TV room. Wendy got some pallets and some Ikea foam mattresses. The pictures on the wall are ones Tristan took and Wendy had them blown up and mounted (via Wal-mart). I still need to do some work on the wires hanging from the TV.
The bathroom. The vanity was custom made from reclaimed wood and was cheaper than all the ones we looked at in Pottery Barn and Most at Lowes of the 60" Length. A custom glass shower door is on order. All the rooms are amazing with a ceiling height of 10'. The tile for the show is about 6' 1/2 feet high so you can see the high space.
The hall way to the right at the bottom of the stairs. Bathroom is the door on the far right. The other doors are a large storage room and utility room. Pictures on the left wall are Tristan's too.
The weight room. We got some 4' x 6' 3/4" Rubber Matting from Tractor Supply Store. They are meant for horse stalls but work great for a flooring in a weight room. Each sheet is 100lbs. Still planning on getting an elliptical machine next month. Will be looking to get some mirrors for the walls eventually.
This is the little kitchen area and a bar that divides the weight room. The bar has tin from a old barn on the side and the top is reclaimed wood from that barn.
This is Tristan's room. He signed a lease until he starts sophomore year in college, then Ayden will move in.
This picture is taken from the weight room with a close up of the bar top. Will be getting a pool table and dart board eventually for this center area space.
Some older early basement pictures. HERE
