I have been lax in posting so here is a quick fire update:
- The weekend following Nana's memorial we went back down to Sanford, NC to help out a bit more cleaning out Nana's house. Karen and Steve were there and Curt came back for a week to help settle things. It was a nice visit and good to be able to help out some more.
- Devyn started Freshmen football. That seems to be going fine. He does not give too many details when we pick him up. We get usually get one word answers from hime these days. He also got braces last week. They said he will need them only for a year.
- All the boys had open house last week at their schools. Ayden is at the same school he was at last year so it is old hat for him. Tristan is at the middle shool now and probably more anxious than nervous. Devyn had a Freshman orientation one day and then an open house, plus with being there 2 weeks early for football he is pretty comfortable in starting high school.
- Boys start school Today. Ayden is still in a before and aftershool program near the school. His bus is the last in the morning of the three boys and with Devyn at football in the afternoons he needed to be somewhere. Home alone is not the place for our little Macaulay Culkin.
- This last weekend we went to Brigantine Island which is the island just north of Atlantic City. A teammate of Wendy's, Jeanne, has a house there and they invited us up for a visit this summer. Different conflicts kept us putting it off, but we finally got up there. Jeanne's husband Jim is an Academy grad as well. They also have three boys 10, 7, 5. So there are a lot of commonalities and everyone had a great time together. We spent a lot of time on the beach, went crabbing and into AC for dinner and a show. We left Sunday to beat the traffic and still have a day left of the weekend to get ready for school.
